Sketchy Thoughts is a playful, new and growing body of work by Stephen. As he puts it they are 'a light-hearted parody of the kind of “art” we see for sale everywhere today'.

Rather than working from grand ideas or heavy concepts, Stephen treats the series as a spontaneous visual diary of whatever he encounters. Created entirely on his iPad, the sketches emerge wherever he happens to be, capturing thoughts, jokes, and observations before they disappear.

Each piece riffs on familiar artistic tropes with warmth and humour rather than cynicism (well… perhaps just a touch). Loose, expressive brushstrokes and scrawled text give the work its immediacy — quick, irreverent, sometimes sarcastic, but always rooted firmly in the moment.
