ICONIC is a celebration of the Irish Red Hare — proud, alert, and effortlessly cool. It’s a creature rooted in the landscape yet somehow larger than it, both myth and modern mascot. There’s a touch of humour in how it poses, self-assured and knowing, as if fully aware of its own status. The loose, expressive brushwork and electric greens frame the hare like a celebrity portrait — part folklore, part fashion spread — a reminder that even the wild can be legendary - tell me you don't love an Irish Red Hare!

ICONIC is part of my ongoing series Sketchy Thoughts — a playful, evolving body of work that parodies the kind of “art” we see for sale today. It’s a spontaneous visual diary of what I see and feel around me, created entirely on my iPad — in the bath, on a plane, in the car, or on a beach somewhere — capturing thoughts before they slip away. Each piece begins with a passing emotion, a lyric, or a fleeting spark, turning those quick impressions into lasting images.

Together, the works in Sketchy Thoughts explore humour, perception, and the immediacy of everyday thought — quick, expressive, and rooted in the moment.
