YORK MINSTER
Stephen's collection of work is drawn from across Ireland and Britain. Capturing many treasured landscapes, from iconic Coastlines to Cathedrals, Universities to Castles, Mountains & Beaches, Towns & Cities, to remembered Old Street Scenes.
For over 25 years Stephen has been making with clay, and his most celebrated work are his sketches fired on to porcelain. Stephen has titled this body of work, Captured Memories - Timeless Landscapes and Memories Captured Forever in Porcelain. Each piece of porcelain is unique, hand rolled, cut, ripped, stamped and fired before being framed and gift boxed.
Alternatively Stephen's drawings are available as Limited Edition Prints on Plywood (the 'sketchy' scenes look amazing on wood), and also as paper prints (in 3 different sizes listed below). You can see some examples of the wooden pieces, paper prints and the porcelain being made in the images.
Porcelain, Finished Framed Size & Gift Boxed Porcelain Small 26cm x 26cm (Finished Framed Size & Gift Boxed) Porcelain Medium 33cm x 33cm (Finished Framed Size & Gift Boxed) Porcelain Large 44cm x 33cm (Finished Framed Size & Gift Boxed) Plywood (Finished Size) Plywood Small - 80cm x 60cm - Limited Edition /45 Plywood Large - 120cm x 80cm - Limited Edition /45 Our wooden pieces are unframed (we think they look great this way), they come strung and with batons on the back, ready to hang with a floating effect from the wall). Please note that each of our porcelain pieces are fired to order, so they may take an extra day or so to create and get to you. Also before we fire on the sketch we glaze our porcelain clay with a soft transparent glaze, this allows each piece to have their own unique character, the glazed surface may have a crackle to it at times, this is dependent on the thickness of the glaze and where the piece is fired in the kiln. The tone of each piece is always slightly different, but we feel these nuances add to their overall charm, as you can read from our customer reviews!
Our large wooden pieces are also made to order, and again due to the totally unique grain in each piece they are all quite different, which makes them all the more beautiful. We put a simple baton hanging system on the back which means you do not have to frame them, they simply float off the wall.
