'The curlew numinous arquata is a globally threatened species. The curlew is native to Ireland with habitats in sharp decline.
There are as few as 200 breeding pairs remaining in ireland. The habitat defragmentation is mainly due to peat extraction, intensive farmland practises and afforestation.'
